Change Your Passwords

A Russian crime ring has amassed the largest known collection of stolen Internet credentials, including 1.2 billion user name and password combinations and more than 500 million email addresses, security researchers say.

The records, discovered by Hold Security, a firm in Milwaukee, include confidential material gathered from 420,000 websites, including household names, and small Internet sites. Hold Security has a history of uncovering significant hacks, including the theft last year of tens of millions of records from Adobe Systems.

Hold Security would not name the victims, citing nondisclosure agreements and a reluctance to name companies whose sites remained vulnerable. At the request of The New York Times, a security expert not affiliated with Hold Security analyzed the database of stolen credentials and confirmed it was authentic. Another computer crime expert who had reviewed the data, but was not allowed to discuss it publicly, said some big companies were aware that their records were among the stolen information.

Apple Features

I went looking around a found a couple cool features I think you will enjoy.

Control Center

Control Panel
From the lock screen instead of sliding your finger to the right to unlock your phone, slide it up, that will give you access to some embedded features.

Automatic UpdateSenator John McCain suggested this feature to the CEO of Apple and *poof* there it is. This feature automatically updates your apps so you no longer have to manually do it.

Photo Filters

Photo Filters
Now you have 9 basic filters you can choose from while taking a picture. Not a back addition.

Dynamic Wallpapers

Dynamic Wallpapers
This is pretty cool as it uses the gyro in the phone to determine which end is up. If you set a Dynamic Wallpaper on the lock screen and tilt your phone, the bubbles will go to the bottom of the screen, if you rotate it they will follow. Currently there are 7 screens to choose from.

All in all not too bad so far. I haven’t run into any problems.

Apple IOS7 Tips

Well, Apple released it’s new IOS for it’s iDevices on the 18th. What do you think? I have been using it and here is what I found.

1.  To Close Apps.To close open apps and save battery life, double click the home button and flick the window up.

2. Keep a clean screen
Now folders can have more apps in them. The folders will have a side scroll so if you’re like my and have more then one folder’s worth of games you can simply add them into one folder called Games.

Stay tunes for more hints and tip.

Apple IOS7 Release

Well, it is time my iDevice friends. Apple is officially releasing IOS7 on September 18th. There are a few things to keep in mind before you upgrade.

1. Back up your device using a computer with iTunes.

2. The update is large so you will need to be on wifi or connected to a computer.

3. This is a major release, so there may be an update soon after it’s initial release.

And if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself, you can make an appointment for a genius to do it for you. Keep in mind, that it might cost you.
